Triphala - three fruits to heal your gut

Triphala is a very common natural remedy utilized in Ayurvedic practices to heal and recover the digestive system. It is a combination of three fruits: HaritakiAmalaki and Bibhitaki.

When these fruits are combined, they create powerful Rasayana, which means rejuvenation in Sanskrit. Ayurveda believes that Rasayana types of foods and herbs can promote longevity and ojas. Ojas is the concept of "bliss", of filling your physical, mental and astral bodies with pure nectar, divine source of life, or elixir. Amas is the opposite of ojas - amas means toxicity, all the negative and unnatural items we ingest through our physical, emotional and spiritual bodies.

To release amas, and increase ojas, Ayurveda encourages people to drink, eat and think rasayana. The closer your food is to alive in nature, the more nutrients and health benefits you'll receive, increasing your ojas.

Triphala can repair damage to the sequence of nature's intelligence in the "gaps" in the tissues, in the mechanics of transformation from one tissue to another. In other words, if a type of tissue forgets its connection to nature's intelligence, or is in some way damaged, Triphala can repair that damage before it manifests as a disease. This could have implications for fighting the growth of cancer or other aberrant cells.
